13 April 2016 – Snow Software, the leading developer of Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions, today announced that it has extended its integration with ServiceNow to include the latest Geneva release.
All ServiceNow customers can now take advantage of clean, normalized IT inventory and Software Asset Management information in their ServiceNow configuration management database (CMDB). This enables them to drive benefits across all areas of IT operations, from help desk ticket resolution through to optimizing the availability of software licenses.
The Snow SAM platform enhances the ServiceNow CMDB by automatically populating it with hardware configuration and software inventory data (including information on software usage and the primary user of each device) that has been both cleansed and normalized by Snow’s unique Software Recognition Service.
Per Skanne, Product Manager, Snow Software, comments: “ServiceNow is an established leader in IT service management and many of our customers are already benefiting from its solutions. Integrating this with Snow’s services adds access to valuable Software Asset Management intelligence that is optimized for all device types, all through one view within the IT service management platform. More organizations are recognizing these benefits, so offering this integration means we’re helping them to achieve those.”
The Snow SAM platform also provides intelligence on software licenses such as upgrade and downgrade rights, plus the identification of software suites and bundles. The integration enables data to be synchronized from the ServiceNow ITSM solution into the Snow SAM platform to bring significant benefits, such as information on key areas of use so the correct license type is applied, and information to help analyze support agreements.
