Snow drives software management ROI with Integration Connectors

October 22 2014, Stockholm: Snow Software, the leading developer of on-premise and cloud-based Software Asset Management (SAM) technologies today reinforced its commitment to delivering the most-connected SAM platform available, with the announcement of new Snow Integration Connectors for ServiceNow, BMC, Dell KACE and IBM Tivoli. These will join pre-existing connectors for Altiris, FrontRange, LANDesk, IBM and Microsoft and help customers maximize the return on existing investments in solutions and shortens the SAM implementation cycle by avoiding the need to deploy new agents.

Snow Integration Connectors enable Snow users to both import audit data from third-party Systems Management and inventory tools, maximizing historic investments in existing ITAM tools, as well as providing actionable SAM intelligence to other platforms, such as IT Service Management solutions.

Data imported via a Snow Integration Connector benefits from Snow’s unique Software Recognition Service (SRS), which identifies and normalizes applications from over 34,000 software publishers. The SRS and Snow Integration Connectors even allow organizations to use multiple systems management solutions at the same time while protecting the integrity and consistency of the data in the software repository.

Peter Björkman, CTO at Snow Software, explained why the Snow Integration Connectors are so important: “Most large organizations today don’t just have one inventory source, but several, and this makes managing software and licensing across the network extremely challenging.  By aggregating all the data from disparate inventory tools into a single normalized repository, Snow not only makes multi-platform, multi-site SAM possible, but it improves the overall quality of the available information.”

In addition to consolidating multiple data sets into a single software repository, the latest Snow Integration Connector makes this cleansed SAM intelligence available to other systems, such as ServiceNow. Integrations like this can help accelerate many facets of service management, from identify and resolving problems through to the faster deployment of applications requested by end users.

Snow’s SAM platform can now be connected with a wide variety of systems management solutions, including: •    Altiris•    BMC ADDM•    Dell KACE•    FrontRange Discovery•    HP DDMI•    IBM ILMT •    IBM Tivoli TAD4D•    LANDesk•    Microsoft SCCM & SMS•    ServiceNow

For other tools not included in the list above, Snow’s professional services team can create custom connectors, built to meet the customer’s exact requirements.  For organizations that do not have an inventory solution deployed, or who require better audit data such as tracking actual software usage, Snow Inventory can also be deployed either network-wide or to address specific coverage gaps on desktop, datacenter and cloud platforms.

Snow Software is a ServiceNow Certified Integration Partner, a member of the BMC Technology Alliance Program (TAP) as well as a Microsoft Gold Partner and Oracle Gold Partner.
