Automating the SAP System Measurement Results Consolidation for LAW

As part of the SAP audit procedure, SAP System Administrators are tasked with carrying out a Systems Measurement for each system they have and sending the results to SAP for processing.

Most enterprises have dozens, hundreds and occasionally thousands of SAP systems, each requiring a Systems Measurement.  Normally, the SAP administrator must first manually pull together each individual system measurement and consolidate them with the License Administration Workbench (LAW).

For larger deployments, this procedure is complex, time-consuming, tedious and subject to human errors.

The Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software has a blend of licensing management, optimization and administration capabilities.

A new capability released last week allows an SAP administrator to select all the systems he/she wants to consolidate and with the click of a mouse each System Measurement is carried out automatically, then aggregated and  sent to the License Administration Workbench (LAW) to generate the final consolidated report to be sent to SAP.

This capability makes it just as easy to pull together 180 systems for an audit as 5 systems due to the automation. Of course, the software also can carry out a very helpful pre-audit in advance of submission to SAP.

This will help the SAP administrators optimize the number of SAP licenses deployed, the license types assigned to users and identify prospective indirect access violations.
