A series of conflicting priorities around cost, risk and innovation are the defining theme among IT leaders closing out 2022 and entering 2023. But lingering issues are creating barriers to addressing pain points such as a lack of visibility and an overwhelming amount of data.

IT leaders face a data deluge
The Snow 2023 IT Priorities Report polled 800 IT leaders from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Australia, and found that 80% said that the global economic uncertainty had caused them to rethink their IT strategy. However, IT leaders find themselves overwhelmed by the data available to best chart their path forward.
CIOs face role changes
but risk burnout
Many CIOs and IT leaders reported continued positive shifts in their roles including being a trusted advisor, no longer considered a one-stop shop for technology and having more accountability for the impact of IT investments. However, 85% of IT leaders are being asked to innovate faster and demonstrate ROI from their business partners.
CIOs continue managing a heavy load among strong economic headwinds and high expectations.
